Internship Onboarding Session for New Cohort

21-Jan-2026

The Intelligent Innovation and Cognition Lab (IICL-Lab) has successfully held its Internship Onboarding Session, officially welcoming a new cohort of interns into the lab. The onboarding aimed to help students and early-career researchers quickly familiarise themselves with the lab’s research directions, working culture, and expectations, laying a solid foundation for their upcoming projects and academic growth.
During the session, interns were introduced to IICL-Lab’s key research areas, active projects, and collaboration mechanisms, with a particular focus on how they will participate in ongoing work. Lab staff and research mentors provided guidance on project workflows, communication norms, research ethics, and the use of essential tools and platforms. The program combined presentations, Q&A, and small-group interactions, ensuring that interns not only understood the lab’s structure, but also had the chance to connect with their supervisors and peers.
Participants responded positively to the onboarding, noting that it was clear, well-organised, and highly relevant to their upcoming tasks. Many expressed that the session helped ease the transition into a new research environment and clarified how they could contribute meaningfully to the lab’s work. The successful completion of this Internship Onboarding Session highlights IICL-Lab’s ongoing commitment to supporting young researchers, providing them with both academic and professional guidance as they embark on their research journey.
